42 years ago... Back in 1982...

This is how it all started back in 1982 - now about 40 years ago, the Commodore 64 was released in the US with the silver-like label made of brushed aluminium.

I think I got my Commodore 64 in the year 1984 here in Germany - One of the first systems that were sold here. After some months using a datasette to store and play games, my parents helped me obtaining a 1541 floppy drive and now I could easily store self-made programs and I started coding in Basic and a little while later in Assembler.

I lost all of my codes and releases after starting to work with the Commodore Amiga. Some releases can be found in the web, but most of them have vanished.

    A short look into the basic hardware of the Commodore 64 and some peripherals.
  • C64 Assembler
    A short look into the MOS 6510 and its instruction set.
  • C64 Games
    A closer look on the games from the early days and some of the crcker legends I grew up with.
  • C64 Demos
    The C64 Demoscene is still alive and kicking. There are an enormous amount of releases that kick the Commodore 64 to its limits and beyond.
  • C64 Graphics
    A closer look into the original and all the invented graphics modes of the Commodore 64. There are still wonderful artists around the world showing their fantastic work with a fix palette of 16 values.
